- Be a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor to earn the specialist designation (open to all fitness professionals, but certification is required to be recognized as a "Specialist")

Become a Barre Instructor
C2 Body offers comprehensive Total Barre® instructor training to help you design and teach dynamic, effective barre classes. Total Barre® is a fun and accessible program for everyone. No dance experience required! Total Barre® focuses on enhancing strength, flexibility, stamina, and dynamic stability through the use of choreography, correct biomechanics, and the power of music.
The Total Barre® Foundation Course is the essential starting point for those interested in becoming a Total Barre® instructor.
The Foundation Course includes 11 specially arranged segments, each accompanied by carefully selected music, that serve as templates for creating a balanced and complete barre workout. You’ll also be introduced to the Total Barre® Principles, which form the backbone of every effective barre class you’ll teach.
You’ll learn:
- Barre Choreography: Learn how to create fluid, effective class sequences.
- Exercise Essence & Biomechanics: Understand the foundational movements and proper technique to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Music as a Motivator: Master the art of using music to enhance movement quality, rhythm, and client engagement.
This program is designed to provide instructors with the knowledge and confidence to create safe, energetic, and engaging barre workouts in any setting.
EXPAND YOUR BARRE EXPERTISE
Once you’ve completed the Foundation Course, you can continue to grow and refine your skills with Professional Development & Continuing Education workshops.
We offer a range of pre-programmed workouts designed to target specific aspects of fitness (e.g., strength, flexibility, stamina) and cater to various populations. Workshops also explore cardio-based intervals, thematic training, and how to tailor programs to specific fitness goals or target groups.
These workshops are designed to:

STOTT PILATES® Essential & Intermediate (Level 1) Certification Courses
The STOTT PILATES® Intensive Program (Level 1) is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, or who have completed the Functional Anatomy course and meet the Pilates class requirements. The focus is on expanding student’s current knowledge while delivering complete instruction in STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles and Essential and Intermediate exercises in a fast-paced format.
This option is ideal for those who are unable to devote the amount of time required in our Comprehensive program due to work and/or scheduling issues.

Intensive Reformer (IR)
This course is intended for those who have a background in movement/teaching OR are already working in the fitness/Rehab/movement field. This includes those in academia who have experience in pilates at their local gym or studio and are looking to change careers, create additional income part-time or someone who is simply passionate about pilates and wants to go deeper personally or learn to teach.
The course is conducted over 3-4 weekends. Building on your industry knowledge, it teaches you to design and lead a Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) STOTT PILATES® Reformer repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients.
You will leave with a solid foundation and required skills to develop effective and motivating Pilates Reformer programs.

Building on your industry knowledge and the material learned in Intensive Mat-Plus™ (IMP) or Intensive Reformer (IR), you learn to design and lead the Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) STOTT PILATES® Cadillac repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients. 125 exercises on the Cadillac Trapeze Table.
What you will learn:
- A variety of exercises performed on the Cadillac Trapeze Table through the full Essential and Intermediate repertoire
- To become better acquainted with the Cadillac as a tool to create complete workouts or as a complement to routines featuring Matwork and other equipment

Injuries & Special Populations (ISP)
The STOTT PILATES® Injuries & Special Populations (ISP) course equips you with the skills required to address a broad range of physical challenges among your clients. It is important to note that this course will NOT prepare students to diagnose or treat any specific injuries or conditions or prescribe exercises for these populations without consultation with an appropriate health practitioner (i.e., Physical Therapist, Physiotherapist, or similarly recognized health care professional).
Completion of ISP is required for full STOTT PILATES® certification.
General course objectives:

Total Barre® Foundation Course
The dynamic Total Barre® program is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement. Instructors looking to bring music-inspired movement to their clients will love the 11 specially arranged and selected segments that serve as the template for each session or class.
Segments are accompanied by timed selections of music, each at a designated pace and focus on individual areas of the body or movement type.
Upon completion of the Instructor Foundation Course, participants will be able to teach the Total Barre® method of exercise. Only upon the receipt of their certificate will they be entitled to identify themselves as a Total Barre® Qualified Instructor.
Total Barre® offers a balanced and thorough blend of theory, observation and practical experience to help you master the repertoire.
General course objectives:
- Learn creative choreography of a well-balanced Barre workout
- Receive a template to effectively guide participants to modify and choreograph future workouts
- Break down various movements and explore the stabilization and mobilization required to achieve them
- Learn how to cue, correct and modify effectively for all populations
- Experience and implement six Total Barre® Foundational Principles
- Participants are supplied suggested beats per minute for each segment of the workout they learn with optional music playlist
