Our Focus
BREATH
Pranayama, the formal practice of controlling the breath, controls breath and does so for a reason. Yoga provides awareness of breath which link the mind and body and creates a sense of calm and increased energy.
CONNECTION
The Bhagavad Gita defines yoga as “equanimity,” and tells us that equanimity allows us to face difficulty with a “steady and quiet” mind. Promoting equanimity, yoga will connect your body with something greater than the world around you, promoting mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper.
BALANCE
Yoga is a balance of opposites: ease and effort. Balance is the ability to control your body without movement against gravity, the ability to ground down while lifting up, and the balance of mental will and the letting go within mind and body.
